A walk in??? In January???

Good thing DH had already done the shopping for our two reservations for tonight. Last night, a couple stopped by and rang the bell. It is 20 degrees outside and we are expecting a light blizzard. (We are North of Boston.) But these two just thought they'd go for a drive and spend the night.
Fine. We pulled some quiche out of the freezer (a tip I got here!) Had some fruit ready for tomorrow (he'll have to go back to the store.) And he had just finished cleaning the room this morning from Sunday!! LOL

January is our fix it month. Most years the dining room is our workshop. Drop cloths, paint cans, huge bags of trash, you get the idea.
We had a walk in who didn't even see the mess, they just wanted a place to stay.
No. Sorry. We can't have you walking thru a construction zone.

Right now we only have two rooms open at all. The others are involved in the bathroom remodel.

I got one tonight too! They are in the area for a christening and just googled B&Bs in the area after they pulled up in front of a motel that the wife said she would NOT stay in. I have them for two nights!

And just got another while we were out running errands! Called and said they'd be waiting for us whenever we made it back. I don't care. I'm still going to my fiddle concert tonight!
