    no response

I have emailed several fellow innkeepers here on the forum and seem to get no response. Its usually an email to get more information about a post they've made to a question I asked, but no one seems to respond. Just wondering if I did something wrong in the process or if people typically don't...

Sadly, I agree it would be best to clean it up. Of course using rubber gloves, spray or whatever. Yuck.

    quickbooks?

Yes, I suppose it wouldn't hold the features for guest managment. Do most of you just use a hand written recepit/registration card or do you print something?? I suppose I'm trying to make it a bit more 'professional'.....

Does anyone use quickbooks for logging guest information? Whether is be to print an invoice, store guest info, etc? I currently print registration cards I created in MS Word and have people fill them out, but I was wondering if there was any way to manage it with quickbooks which is the system I...

the best dressed bed - suggestions

Thank you everyone!! I would assume all the 'pieces' get washed with every use?? The blanket, shams, coverlet, duvet covers etc??? Yes, I am not close to 'big shopping areas' either. I found sheet sets at JCPenneys that are wonderful... beauitfully white and wrinkle free. I have been using these...

the best dressed bed - suggestions

So, I just purchased my bed and breakfast a year ago and I'm looking to change the way the beds are dressed. Currently it's the sheets (blanket in the winter) and comforter. Two pillows for use and two decorative pillows with shams to match the comforter. I'm looking to create a bed with all...

    children

Does anyone have any 'nice' wording for a website to say that children under a certian age are.... 'not welcomed'. (even 'well-behaved' ones) I've owned my b&b for a year now and opening my home to children that are still in diapers or just out of them has been overly stressful and...

I have ten people for breakfast tomorrow. I serve family style. I'm looking for something preferable salty... like eggs etc.. rather than something that requires syrup [had pancakes today]. Any help is appreciated. It's like writers block for an inkeeper!

    guests that request NO service???

Guests asked... or told me... that they don't need service, that 'no one' (aka me) needs to go in their room. They said they've made their bed and don't need fresh towels. Do I go into their room and freshen up anyway? They are great people and I don't think they are 'hiding' anything. I don't...

    Early Check-In This Morning

Wow. That's crazy. When I make a reservation I tell my guests that check-in is from 3-6pm. I find out if that's okay and go from there. 85% of the time that works for people. If that time doesn't work I try to get an idea of when they expect to arrive and make a note in my book. If people are...
