Interesting correlation of Google reviews to search positioning

This article is not surprising in that it draws connections between reviews done within Google and search positioning. What is nice about it though is the numerical connection made and that it is tied to the accommodation industry (Hotels specifically)...

Swirt, or other...what am I doing wrong?

ANd I am sorry.... somehow I completely missed this thread. I got your message but somehow missed the original distress call here.

Swirt, or other...what am I doing wrong?

The "bed and breakfast" gets appended automatically to the location listed for location field for the "ad". It is meant to give you a weeeeeee bit of help in the search engine arena. It will do very little for you in your case but will cause you no harm in terms of your customers. In terms...

    B&B vs. Inn

Redirects only work if they are done correctly. Also that is only part of the equation. For things like local/map search consistency of "signals" or "citations" is important. That is the part Breakfast Diva was bringing up. 15 citations all saying the same thing can be more powerful than 30...

    Web bots attacking

It simply renames the tables from the standard "wp_tablename" to something unique so that hackers can't get to your database by exploiting known table names. Back up your database first as a precaution, then have the plugin rename them. Unless this is some kind of managed hosting, you should...

I highly recommend the plugin "Better WP Security" When fully configured, it stops brute force attacks and Much Much more.

New term for the innspiring glossary

Hah, yah I had a guy one time that arrived and insisting that I gave him the wrong cabin. RR(room rager): This is not the right cabin, I booked the one with the hot-tub. Me: Sir we don't have any cabins with hot-tubs. RR: It showed on your website you had a room with a hot-tub. Me: Sir I built...

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

I just enacted some changes to allow the WYSIWYG to just let your browser handle spell checking. Most browsers handle it on their own. If you are using one that does, you should get a red underline when you mis-spell something. right-click (pc) or control click (mac) or long-hold (tablets??)...

I was able to add the button for spell checking.

Well thanks both of you for the feedback and testing it out.. I guess that means I should likely leave the spell checker off. I also wonder if it may cure some of the double and triple posting that happens now and then. I'll do some searching to see what I can find.

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

Ok so, its not doing it with the plain text, so that implies it is the WYSIWIG.... now we have to rule out whether it is the wysiwig or actually the spell checker add-on to the wysiwig. In the name of getting this sorted out, I am going to turn of the spell checker for a couple of days. Let me...

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

Hmmm me changing the WYSIWIG version should have had no impact on whether you could login or not. Those should be entirely unrelated.

I just updated the WYSWIG to a newer version. Let me know if that seems to make any difference.

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

Ok, that indicates to me that it has to do with the wysiwig or perhaps the spellchecker that the wysiwig uses. I'll do some research to see if I can find any references to this problem elsewhere. What happens if you disable the wysiwig by clicking "switch to plain text editor"?

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

What kind of tablet are you using? I suggest the same test I proposed to Proud Texan. If you disable the wysiwig and the posts still come out like that, then it is some autocorrecting "feature" happening on your tablet's side.

    Innspiring Google Chrome and iPad

Hmmm. Interesting mystery. I use chrome all the time on both windows and linux, but not on an iOS device. If you don't get to it from a bookmark and you just type it in, does it suffer the same problem? (would indicate something perhaps not right with the bookmark as K9 suggested) The...

    B&B in a newer mansion?

    4. Owners quarters: should our quarters be in the master suite and rent the A-Frame in it's entirety OR should we live in the A-Frame and have the master suite available as a bridal/honeymoon suite? I wonder which would be more likely to be rented more often? I believe we will run it as...

My first (long!) post was blocked! :-(

HI Martio, I resurrected your first post https://www.innspiring.com/node/13211 It was blocked because you submitted the same post three times in the same minute. (Usually only robots can type that fast). The fact that you said I was still writing and it popped up a screen saying that my...

    Numbnutz does not understand....

There is nothing wrong with the dates. One of your recent posts (whichever one you saved right before it all went kerblooey) has some malformed html and has an opening tag but no closing tag, or a closing tag but no opening tag and it is destroying the structure of your page. If you are not...

    Redesigning your website?

Altering their widget (changing color, removing links...) violates their terms of service you agreed to when you grabbed the widget. Normally there is a minimal chance of getting "caught" but I do know you are in a competitve area with competition who might not think twice about raising an issue.
